Nomadic SXSW Meetup
Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM (CDT)
Come hang out and meet other nomadic folks - past, present and future! Held during the SXSW Interactive festival in Austin, TX and organized by Technomadia (Chris Dunphy & Cherie Ve Ard - full time technomads for nearly 5 years).
If you're a digital nomad, location independent professional, lifestyle designer, technomad, nu-nomad, vagabond - or interested in any of the above, this event is for YOU!
Intended to be a casual meet and greet event - and there's always a possibility of a moderated discussion or Q&A session emerging. We have an outdoor patio reserved a block and half from the Convention Center, and attendees are on their own to order off the menu, get drinks or there is no obligation to order anything at all.
Sunday, March 13 is shaping up to be 'The Day of the Nomad' at SXSW. Check out this line-up:
11a - SXSWi Core Conversation: 'Technomadism - Becoming a Technology Enabled Nomad' hosted by Cherie & Chris of Technomadia
12:30 - SXSWi Core Conversation: 'How to Make Money While Traveling Around the World'. hosted by Jason Boehle & Tynan
2p - Nomadic SXSW Meetup (this event)
This meet-up is open to all nomadic spirits - you do not need a SXSW Badge to attend. But you will need one for the scheduled talks prior to it.
NOTE: This is a casual meet-up - not a SXSW Party - there's nothing free here offered (no booze, no food, no swag - all attendees are on their own if they want to drink/eat). This is really just a bunch of us nomads meeting up and talking about life on the road. The venue is smallish (only room for about 50 at a time) - so if you're not seriously interested in nomadic life, probably best to move on to the next party :) Thanks!
Now, if you're a sponsor who wants to buy some nomads a round... be in touch!
Many thanks to the awesome folks at NuNomad.com for being a hosting sponsor of this meetup - we very much appreciate them arranging for the space! If you've not yet joined their Tribe - do so right now! It's a fantastic resource to virtually mingle and learn from other nomads.
